I couldn't get some game objects to render behind the tiles (for example acid), see figure below. Adjusting the order in the hierarchy didn't help.


I noticed Spitters can shoot their projectiles through walls which led me to the idea of using them as an unkillable hazard. I put them behind walls so that they can bombard the player while she moves underneath on a moving platform. I also made a pressure plate that kills those Spitters after being activated when the player reaches behind them.


I didn't know how to design the "you won" message. I couldn't get the text object to render in runtime. I didn't want to invest time in creating the UI for it. I ended up making it from tiles inside the game. The player is then expected to leave the game.
